Caroline Estes: “A History of Women in the Aquarium Hobby”
SPU, Otto Miller Hall Room 109

Caroline Estes from Austin Texas, has been in the aquarium hobby for over 42 years. She is a fellow of the American Cichlid Association. In 1994, Caroline co-founded Babes in the Cichlid Hobby, which has raised well over $200,000 for cichlid conservation and research through their famous convention auctions. She has been collecting in Texas, Mexico and Lake Tanganyika. Caroline owned Amazonia Aquariums for twenty years, a specialty cichlid shop with 500 tanks that stressed conservation and breeding. Now happily retired, Caroline spends her time in a band, working on local political issues and collecting folk art.

After the main presentation, stay for the Monthly Auction (sellers, pre-register your stuff here).
